TLIF0002 Administer chain of responsibility policies and procedures

Tony can identify, apply and follow chain of responsibility policies and procedures in a supervisory role in relation to heavy vehicles. His duties include explaining the chain of responsibility features and administering the requirements in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and regulations or applicable state/territory law and regulations. Tony’s duties include administering and monitoring chain of responsibility workplace policies and procedures, and identifying and reporting chain of responsibility breaches.

TLIL5020 Develop and maintain operational procedures for transport and logistics enterprises

Tony can develop and maintain operational procedures for transport and logistics enterprises in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice, including the Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code and workplace procedures. His duties include planning and developing operational procedures, and monitoring and evaluating the implementation of these operational procedure/s.

TLIF4064 Manage fatigue management policy and procedures

Tony can manage organisational fatigue management policy and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations. His duties include identifying legal requirements, liabilities and responsibilities for establishing and/or improving fatigue management implementation plans, policies and procedures. Tony’s duties also include acting appropriately on reports and identified breaches of fatigue management regulations. Tony’s duties also include ensuring operational systems are compliant with fatigue management regulations and policy; planning and organising adequate resources and operational systems; and facilitating the training and assessment of staff on their responsibilities and fatigue management techniques.

TLIL5019 Implement and monitor transport logistics

Tony can implement and monitor transport logistics in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements, standards and codes of practice, including the Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code and workplace procedures. His duties include mobilising resources, coordinating multi-modal transport activities, monitoring consignment/s and implementing a contingency management strategy.

TLIL5026 Manage export logistics

Tony can manage export logistics in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements, workplace procedures, standards and codes of practice, including Australian and International Dangerous Goods Codes. His duties include planning efficient export logistics operations, developing appropriate contingency management strategies, producing operation schedules as well as monitoring and coordinating systems for export logistics.

TLIL5055 Manage a supply chain

Tony can manage a supply chain within various contexts in the transport and logistics industry. It covers the relationships between an organisation and its supply and demand partners along the chain. His duties include implementing a demand-driven supply chain management strategy, managing the supply chain, and evaluating and improving supply chain effectiveness.

TLIM4004 Mentor individuals or small groups

Tony can mentor individuals or small groups (two to five people) in the workplace. His duties include preparing for and undertaking mentoring, providing practice opportunities as well as reviewing mentoring processes and progress. His duties include developing the required workplace competence in other workers on a one-to-one or small group basis in an on-the-job environment.

TLIP5004 Develop a transport and logistics business plan

Tony can develop a business plan for an organisation or a discrete business unit in the transport and logistics industry, in accordance with relevant Australian and international regulatory requirements, standards, codes of practice and workplace procedures. This includes conducting a situational and market analysis, analysing the organisational environment, developing appropriate strategies, and implementing and evaluating the resulting business plan.

TLIP5008 Manage a transport and logistics business unit

Tony can manage a transport and logistics business unit in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, codes of practice and workplace procedures. His duties include identifying the market for the business unit, setting transport and logistics business unit objectives, collecting information for business planning operations, establishing resources required to achieve objectives and managing business unit performance to achieve the required outcomes.

TLIR5006 Develop, implement and review purchasing strategies

Tony can develop, implement and review an organisation’s purchasing strategies in various contexts within the transport and logistics industry. His duties include determining, developing, implementing and evaluating purchasing objectives and strategies, and implementing improvements.

BSBHRM405 Support the recruitment, selection and induction of staff

Tony can execute tasks associated with the recruitment cycle and apply in-depth knowledge of the work of the organisation, and how recruitment and selection practices fit with other human resources functions.

BSBMGT502 Manage people performance

Tony can manage the performance of staff who report to them directly. Development of key result areas and key performance indicators and standards, coupled with regular and timely coaching and feedback, provide the basis for performance management. His duties include work allocation and the methods to review performance, reward excellence and provide feedback where there is a need for improvement.

BSBMGT516 Facilitate continuous improvement

Tony can lead and manage continuous improvement systems and processes. Particular emphasis is on the development of systems and the analysis of information to monitor and adjust performance strategies, and to manage opportunities for further improvements. He takes an active role in managing a continuous improvement process in order to achieve his organisation’s objectives.

Tony can undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. It covers developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects.
